Hay cadáveres / There are corpses
Ver fotos/See picturesHe construido doce veletas. Son muy pequeñas, pero su sombra se amplía en las paredes. Las veletas están montadas de forma lineal, sobre una estructura. Hay un motor asociado a cada una de ellas. Encima de ellas hay una letra. Todo el conjunto compone la persistente frase: HAY CADÁVERES del poema de Néstor Perlongher. Las letras giran asincrónicamente, indicando la ubicación amplificada de los cadáveres. La naturaleza expandida de la muerte subyace en la obstinación del movimiento.
La tensión entre las escrituras -las pequeñas letras en la parte superior de las aspas y sus proyecciones- revela la fricción entre la insignificancia y la inmensidad de la muerte. El gesto repetitivo de la rotación perpetua desvela el trauma que provoca la catástrofe.
I built twelve wind vanes. They are very small, but their shadow is magnified onto the walls. The vanes are mounted in a linear way, on a structure. There is a motor associated with each of them. On top of them, there is a letter. The entire set composes the persistent phrase: THERE ARE CORPSES from Néstor Perlongher´s poem. The letters spin up asynchronously, indicating the amplified location of the dead bodies. The expanded nature of the death underlies in the obstinacy of the movement.
The tension between the writings – the small letters on the top of the vanes and their projections- reveals the friction between the insignificance and the vastness of death. The repetitive gesture of the perpetual rotation unveils the trauma that the disaster provokes.
