Ver fotos/See picturesEl tema del tejido y de las palabras es un topos recurrente dentro de los relatos que aluden al acto de tejer. Entrelazar un punto después de otro implica una dinámica lineal que termina por des-linealizar al lenguaje. Cual un hipertexto, las palabras se “desordenan” en el tejido y el sentido del discurso surge de la puesta en relación y de la asociación de palabras que han perdido su contigüidad espacial, merced, precisamente, a la lógica del tejido.
Los retazos de palabras propias del packaging perderán su marco de referencia y conformarán nuevos discursos a partir del entrelazamiento fortuito.
De chica, mi abuela me hacía tejer bolsas con el producto del reciclado de los sachets de leche, para guardar las verduras compradas en la feria. Construir a partir del desecho moderno, refuncionalizar al desecho a partir de la artesanía hogareña: siempre me generaba curiosidad cómo las palabras de los envoltorios iban trazando nuevos recorridos en las bolsas que tejía.
La ciudad es el soporte a partir del cual se despliega el gesto creador. Un gesto creador que se vale de lo desechable en las sociedades modernas para crear nuevos universos y recorridos textuales.
The theme of weaving and of words is a recurring topos in traditional narratives. The act of weaving – interweaving one stitch after another – implies a linear dynamic that ends up de-linearizing language. Like a hypertext, words become “disordered” in the weaving. The meaning of the discourse emerges from this relationship and association of words that have lost their spatial contiguity, thanks precisely to the logic of weaving.
The fragments of words from the packaging will lose their frame of reference and will form new discourses from the fortuitous interweaving.
When I was a child, my grandmother used to make me weave bags from recycled milk sachets to carry vegetables bought at the fair. To build from modern waste, in order to refunctionalize waste from home craftsmanship: I was always curious about how the words on the wrappings shape new paths on the bags I wove.
The city is the support from which the creative gesture unfolds. A creative gesture that uses the disposable in modern societies to create new universes and textual paths.
